Over 200 Bippers Unite for Local Volunteer Initiatives
Over 200 Bippers from across the globe came together in Vodnjan for Infobip’s annual strategy planning event. Building on our tradition of community involvement, this year’s event included a series of volunteer activities across Vodnjan, Pula, and the surrounding areas
At the beginning of September, as part of the annual strategy planning event, Infobip, organized three volunteering initiatives in Istria focused on community needs. For the second consecutive year, over 200 employees from various regions of the world took part in volunteering activities in Vodnjan, Pula, and the surrounding areas.
The first activity involved nearly 80 employees volunteering at an elementary school in Vodnjan. Following the success of last year’s collaboration, the initiative to paint the school’s corridors was repeated to create a welcoming environment for the new school year. The second volunteering activity, which also engaged many employees, was carried out in partnership with Čisteći medvjedići association for a beach cleanup in Peroj. Čisteći medvjedići initiative is known for its cleaning and environmental conservation actions, and a similar volunteering activity was carried out on the beach in Barbariga last year.
An equal number of employees participated in the final volunteering activity, which took place at the Vila Maria Social Care Home in Pula. This facility provides care and accommodation services for adults with mental disabilities. “At Vila Maria, we genuinely welcome every volunteer, and group volunteering especially delights us. Every volunteer who chooses to selflessly share their knowledge and skills and open their heart to our users contributes to breaking down prejudices and stigmatization of individuals with mental health challenges. Their selflessness also enhances the quality of life and level of inclusion in the community for our users and others facing similar challenges,” said Tina Načinović, Director of Vila Maria Social Care Home.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Volunteer Center Istria, Infobip employees engaged in various activities, from painting corridors to interacting with the care home’s residents. “In addition to enhancing the space where Vila Maria’s users reside, Infobip employees contributed to breaking down prejudices associated with individuals with mental disabilities, which is the greatest value of this wonderful initiative. We hope that our joint efforts and continued collaboration will contribute to establishing volunteering programs in the business sector and highlight the importance and significance of employee volunteering in social development and community development,” emphasized Maja Erak, Head of Volunteer Center Istria.
Through partnerships with local organizations and associations, Infobip supports the communities in which it operates, and the conducted volunteer activities affirm the company’s commitment to this goal.
